Great catch and review from Lawrence Stuemke. IWANA classic fly reels are a welcome and unique addition to today's fly reel market. Top notch machining and modern materials at a fair price

This handle, combined with a 7.3:1 gear ratio, gives the reel a ridiculous 32 inches per crank line retrieval rate, making it ideal for speed-jigging spoons or burning swimbaits through schooling fish

In all honesty, I will never know what Grandpa hoped to teach me that cold afternoon on our small boat

reverse makes the reel unbelievably smooth and the carbon drag system delivers up to 10 lbs of max drag for fighting fish
