Ring Nebula JWST Medium:Poster AS11-44-6642Behold the celestial splendor of the Ring Nebula, also known as M57 or NGC 6720, as captured by NASAs James Webb Space Telescope with unparalleled clarity. This iconic planetary nebula, formed from the dying breaths of a sun like star shedding its outer layers, sits approximately 2,500 light years from Earth. It serves as a classic example of the final stages of stellar evolution for stars similar to our own sun. Webb's NIRCam (Near Infrared Camera)
